Norwood Carnival

Save The Date!

Mark your calendars! The carnival dates have been set! June 14-16 will be the NEW NORWOOD CARNIVAL!!! To help get this great event up and running we are looking for corporate sponsorship as well as donations from friends and family.

Author Day

One of the best events at Norwood School. Authors come throughout the school year for all the grade levels to discuss their books and writing process. Both students and staff love this wonderful experience.

Halloween Parade

Get your costumes on and get out to march in our annual Halloween Parade! One of the best loved days of the year- the kids change into princesses, super heros, and goblins for an afternoon of parading and parties!

Field Day

Go Gold! Go Blue! What team will win this year? Each June, the students show their school spirit by competing in outdoor fun filled games and activities- a great day for all!

Author Day

Who doesn't love Pinkerton? Award winning author Steven Kellogg came to our school to discuss his books and show us how his illustrations come to life. He actually had a dog just like Pinkerton! Watch this You Tube clip to see more.

Spirit Wear

Grandparents Day

Grand Parents Day

Best day ever! Each year, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, is Grandparents Day- the best ticket in town! The kids put on a great show and our special relatives have a wonderful time celebrating with us!

Welcome

January, 2012

Happy New Year to everyone. It’s hard to believe a new year is upon us already. With winter settling in, our committees are hard at work with activities to help get us through the cold winter months.

The Holiday Boutique was a huge success this year. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped with picking up items, helping the children make their selections, and especially with the set up and clean up after it was all done. We hope you and your family enjoy the gifts from your children. Our Holiday Card Toys for Tots Fund Raiser was also a big hit! We donated close to $250 to help local needy families.

Our cultural arts assembly schedule will pick up steam this month. We are proud to present speakers and programs to enhance the curriculum of all grade levels. Pushing Progress Dance Troupe will be in on January 30 with presentations for grades 5 and 6 and Eyes on Art continues to enlighten our students about famous artists.

The KPSC will be organizing an amazing Lunar New Year Celebration. Fun and exciting events have been planned for the week of January 23rd.

As always, we welcome everyone to our monthly PTO meetings. Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, January 11 at 8 pm in the school library. Come find out what is going on in your child’s school, get involved in some way, or just say hello.

Sincerely,
Samantha Fruhling
PTO President
